Gender

The aim of the work of the AStA team is the achievement of factual equality between women and men. This includes the following tasks:

• Organizing events which shed light on our perception of gender, how we deal with it and how we can change persistent stereotypes;
• Counceling and providing information to students who are victims of sexual harassment;
• Advising students who suffer gender discrimination or discrimination due to their sexual orientation;
• Cooperation with the equal opportunity office and the equal opportunity committee of the Senate of the University of Tuebingen;
• Keeping in touch with the committee on women's rights and gender politics of the fzs (the national umbrella association of student councils);
• Advising and supporting students' initiatives in the field of gender politics, e.g., queer students' group or student clubs.
