AStA is responsible for students’ matters, concerning musical, cultural and sport affairs. It promotes events and supports student groups and projects financially. Furthermore, AStAs advisors try and help students in different fields and coordinate students’ work across faculties at the University of Tübingen and collaboration with other universities.
Every year, elections are hold to constitute the AStA. AStA consist of 15 members, representing different political university groups.
Additionally, AStA selects and employs 12 advisors to assist students in different matters. The 12 Service-Sections are: International Students’ Affairs, Social Affairs, Traffic and Mobility, Environmental Affairs, Cultural Affairs (I+II), Gender Affairs, Handicapped and Cronically Ill Students, IT & Internet, Public Relations, Supraregional and Interfacultative Affairs (see Service-Sections).
AStA’s budget is being defined by the university’s presidency and the university’s council. In its monthly sessions, AStA decides on how to spend the funds. Student Groups can apply for financial assistance.
Individual students or groups can also seek assistance of the 12 advisors.
